Interior Design Capabilities Statement
An interior design capabilities statement explains what a firm does, where it works and what a project team can expect from its scope.
Level Up Interiors LLC is a full-service commercial interior design firm based in Irvine, California. We support multi family, student housing, senior living, active adult, hospitality and model home merchandising nationwide, acting as an extension of the developer, builder, facilities or property management team.
Firm Profile for Commercial Interiors

We bring design thinking into the practical conditions that shape a property: who will use it, how it will be toured, how staff will operate it and how the interior must hold up after opening. Our team brings over 15 years of industry experience, with work that spans planning, finish direction, FF&E, documentation, procurement coordination and installation support.
Our role is useful when a project needs one interior design point of view carried from early direction into the details that affect bidding, ordering, field coordination and final placement. That means the concept is not treated as a separate presentation exercise. It becomes the basis for decisions about materials, furniture, art, wall decor, accessories, drawings, specifications and on-site execution.
Interior Design Capabilities Statement Scope

For RFP and proposal teams, our capabilities are strongest where interior design has to connect vision with a buildable and purchasable package. We can support early market and demographic thinking, mood direction, space planning, material direction, FF&E selection, procurement coordination, construction documents, renderings, walkthroughs and project management communication.
Two areas often determine whether a commercial interior moves cleanly: documentation and FF&E Procurement. Drawings and specifications need to be clear enough for pricing and coordination, while furniture, art and accessory decisions need to account for lead times, storage, receiving conditions and installation sequencing. We help clients make those decisions before the project is compressed by site activity.
Project Categories We Support

Our work is concentrated in property types where interiors affect leasing, operations, resident experience, guest perception or sales presentation. For multi family and student housing, that often means balancing tour appeal with shared-use durability and furniture that can handle repeated daily traffic. For senior living and active adult communities, it means planning for comfort, clarity, amenities and residences that feel considered without becoming difficult to maintain.
Hospitality work calls for attention to guest flow, finish character, lighting and furniture decisions that support operations. Model home merchandising has a different purpose: each room needs to help a buyer understand scale, lifestyle and the value of the plan without distracting from the home itself.
Founder Background and Project Discipline

Level Up Interiors is led by Laura Velasco, Owner and Principal Designer. Laura holds a BS in Interior Design from The Art Institute and began her career in model home merchandising before becoming a project manager focused on multi family and senior living design.
Laura also served 7 years in the US Army National Guard as an Operations Specialist in a Military Police Company. That background informs how we communicate, track decisions and stay attentive to the many handoffs inside commercial interiors. We know that a strong design package has to work for the owner, the builder, the operator and the people responsible for maintaining the property after opening.
Geographic Reach and Completed Markets
Read more
We work nationwide and have completed projects in thirteen states, from California and Arizona to Texas, Colorado, Florida and New York. That range matters because each market brings different expectations, climate considerations, operational habits and demographic signals. A student housing property in Arizona is not evaluated the same way as a multi family community in California or a hospitality space inside a Southern California shopping center.
Our location in Irvine, California gives us a Southern California base, while our process is built for coordination beyond one local market. For a proposal, we look at what the assignment requires from our team, what decisions are already made and where interior design needs to reduce uncertainty for the broader project group.
Proposal Readiness and Deliverables
Read more
When a client is preparing a request, the most useful information is not only the visual direction. It is the package of decisions behind it. Depending on scope, that may include finish direction, FF&E selections, construction drawings, a biddable specification package, floor plans, electrical plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, sections, realistic renderings and video walkthroughs.
A clear proposal conversation should identify the property type, phase, intended opening or turnover need, decision makers, construction status, procurement responsibilities and installation expectations. From there, we can define the right level of design support instead of forcing every project into the same scope.
Questions
What is included in an interior design capabilities statement?
An interior design capabilities statement usually summarizes the firm profile, project types, services, geographic reach and key deliverables. For Level Up Interiors, it also explains how we support commercial teams through design direction, documentation, FF&E decisions and installation coordination.
Does Level Up Interiors work outside California?
Yes. We work nationwide and have completed projects in thirteen states, from California and Arizona to Texas, Colorado, Florida and New York. We evaluate each opportunity by scope, location, project phase and the level of coordination required from our team.
Which commercial property types are the strongest fit?
We are a strong fit for multi family, student housing, senior living, active adult, hospitality and model home merchandising assignments.
Can Level Up Interiors provide drawings and specifications for bidding?
Yes, when that scope is part of the engagement. Our work can include construction drawings, specification packages, plans, elevations, sections, renderings and walkthroughs that help the project team price, coordinate and execute the interior work.
How should an RFP team request a proposal?
The most helpful request includes the property type, location, current phase, target scope, known deliverables and any procurement or installation expectations. It should also identify who will approve design decisions and who will coordinate with construction, operations or property management.
