Commercial Interior Design in Amarillo
Commercial interior design in Amarillo is the planning, furnishing and installation of the apartments, extended-stay hotels, build-to-rent homes and new-home communities the Panhandle will need if planned data center work brings construction crews and new staff to the region. Texas is one of the states where Level Up Interiors has completed work, and we run Amarillo projects from our Irvine studio, with furniture received at our Southern California warehouse and installed through partners across the country.
Owners here need interiors that stand up to wind and grit, furniture packages that can be bought in phases, and a design plan that can grow or pause with the project schedule.
Project Matador and the Amarillo Housing Outlook
Read more
Project Matador in Carson County, northeast of Amarillo, is where Fermi Inc. announced in August 2026 a $6.5 billion, 15-year lease with AI cloud provider TensorWave for a data center supplied by 222 megawatts of power. Fermi expects to begin delivering the TensorWave facility in stages during the second half of 2027, and the agreement gives TensorWave rights to expand into two additional data centers.
The site is open Panhandle country, so the people who build and later operate it will look to Amarillo and nearby towns for a place to live. Construction crews arrive first and need furnished apartments and extended-stay rooms. A smaller permanent workforce follows. How much housing all of this adds depends on whether the campus phases proceed, so we help owners commit to interiors in steps rather than buying everything at once.
Amarillo does not depend on data centers alone. Pantex reported 4,626 employees in July 2024 and said it had become the largest employer across the Texas Panhandle after its workload grew by more than 70%, and its new management contractor, PanTeXas Deterrence, announced a downtown Amarillo campus for 400 to 500 employees. That steady base of engineers, technicians and skilled trades keeps apartments and new homes in demand whatever the campus schedule does.
Crew Apartments and Extended-Stay Rooms in Amarillo
Read more
Crew housing is where an Amarillo property earns or loses its reputation fastest. Residents come in from long shifts with dust on their boots, many sleep during the day, and units change hands whenever a construction stage wraps up. We design for that rhythm: blackout shades and quiet bedrooms, a hard-floored drop zone at the door for gear, a kitchen built for daily use and upholstery that wipes clean.
Extended-stay hotels need the same toughness with a hospitality layer, such as a real work surface, generous storage and a lobby that serves as breakfast room by morning and lounge by evening. Because demand may arrive in stages, we write a single furniture standard for each unit type and release orders building by building. Each release is received and checked at our Southern California warehouse, shipped as a consolidated load and installed by our partners, with our designers on site to finish the rooms. Later buildings are furnished from the same spec, so a property that opens in phases still reads as a single place.
Build-to-Rent and Model Homes Around Amarillo
Read more
As a permanent workforce settles in, demand shifts toward build-to-rent homes and new-home communities in and around Amarillo. In a build-to-rent community the amenity building and leasing office do much of the selling, so we treat them like a model home for the whole property: residential and easy to picture living in, with finishes that repeat across plans without feeling stamped out.
For builders, model home merchandising shows a buyer how a floor plan actually lives. We scale furniture to the real rooms, stage a believable home office and make option upgrades easy to spot. Where senior living or active adult housing enters the plan, priorities shift toward supportive seating, strong contrast between floors and walls, and glare control in common rooms.
Commercial Interior Design in Amarillo Starts With the Weather
Read more
High Plains weather writes much of the Amarillo specification. Wind pushes fine dust under every door, summers run hot, winters turn cold, and a spring afternoon can bring hail. We choose finishes that hide grit and clean quickly, plan entries that stop dirt before it reaches carpet, and pick outdoor furniture that stays put in a gust.
The regional look is an asset when it is used with restraint. Brick, blackened steel, weathered wood and the reds and ochres of canyon country read as Amarillo without turning a clubhouse into a ranch theme, and a nod to cattle culture or old highway history works best in a single piece of art or a single material, not on every wall.
- Textured porcelain, sealed concrete and matte laminates in place of high gloss
- Recessed walk-off mats and hard-surface vestibules at main entries
- Solution-dyed fabrics near west-facing glass
- Heavy or anchorable outdoor frames that hold up in wind
Questions
Do you take on commercial interior design in Amarillo from Irvine?
Yes. Most projects we take on are beyond Southern California, and Texas counts among the states where we have finished work. Design and purchasing run from our Irvine studio, and our designers travel to Amarillo for site walks and to finish rooms at installation.
Should we wait for the data center schedule to settle before hiring a designer?
You do not need to. Decisions that hold regardless of timing, such as finish standards, a furniture spec for each unit type and renderings for ownership or lenders, can be made early. Purchasing can then be released in phases as construction dates firm up, which keeps money out of storage.
Which finishes hold up to Panhandle wind and dust?
Matte and textured surfaces hide fine grit better than gloss or very dark flat colors. We lean on porcelain, sealed concrete and performance fabrics, protect entries with walk-off mats and specify outdoor furniture heavy enough to stay in place.
Can you furnish crew housing or an extended-stay hotel a building at a time?
Yes. We write the furniture standard once, then order, receive and inspect it in batches at our Southern California warehouse. Each building is delivered and installed as it is ready, so early units can open while later ones are still under construction.
Do you take smaller Amarillo projects?
Yes. A furniture refresh, a single amenity room, finish selections, a rendering for an approval meeting or photoshoot styling are all welcome scopes.
