Multi Family Interior Design in Richmond
Multi Family interior design in Richmond, VA is the planning, specifying and furnishing of apartment communities for the renters moving into the suburban counties around the city.
In August 2025, Google announced a new data center in Chesterfield County at Meadowville Technology Park as part of a $9 billion Virginia investment. Construction crews arrive first, then operations and technician staff, and every one of them needs a place to live. We design garden-style, wrap and podium apartments for that kind of demand, and we have completed work in Virginia.
Garden-style, wrap and podium: what each Richmond building asks of the interior

A garden-style community in Chesterfield, Henrico or Hanover has little shared interior corridor. Residents reach their doors from stairs and breezeways, so the interior story lives in the clubhouse, the leasing area and the model unit. That is where the budget works hardest, and the unit interiors need to deliver what the model promises.
A wrap building around a parking structure adds interior corridors and a lobby that has to act as a front door for people arriving from a garage. A podium building stacks residential floors over a ground-level base, which puts the lobby, package room and amenity rooms close together. Each type moves the spending to a different place, and we settle that before finish selections begin.
Lobbies, clubrooms, fitness and coworking for Richmond renters

The renter base here is mixed. Some residents are on a project for a stretch of time, some are technicians settling into a longer posting, and some work from home for banks, government contractors or tech employers. The common spaces have to serve all of them without feeling like separate buildings.
- Clubrooms: a soft end for gathering and a counter end for laptops and coffee, so the room is used at every hour.
- Fitness: durable flooring, mirrors placed away from glare, and storage that keeps towels and gear off the floor.
- Coworking: real power at every seat, enclosed spots for calls, and furniture that holds up to daily use.
- Lobbies: seating, mail and packages arranged so a resident coming off a long day can cross the room without a detour.
Corridors and model units that suit Richmond weather and taste

Richmond summers are humid and winters can bring ice, so entries and corridors take real abuse. We specify entry flooring that releases moisture and grit, corridor flooring that hides wear, and wall protection where carts and furniture move.
The local palette helps. Brick, iron, river stone and heart-pine tones are everyday materials in the city, and residents who work in government, banking and tech tend to respond to warm, traditional-leaning rooms. We bring those tones into a model unit through wood-look flooring, metal accents and layered textiles, then keep the lines clean so the unit still reads current. The model sells the floor plan, so furniture scale is chosen to show how the space lives, not to fill it.
Running a Richmond Multi Family project from Irvine

We are based in Irvine and most of our projects are outside Southern California, so remote delivery is how we normally work. Drawings, renderings and selections are reviewed with your team on a rhythm that fits the construction calendar. Furnishings are ordered, received and inspected at our own warehouse in Southern California, then delivered in coordination with installation partners across the United States, with our designers on site for the install.
Small scopes are welcome. A lobby refresh, a single amenity room or a set of finish selections for a Richmond community is a reasonable place to start.
Questions
What does multi family interior design in Richmond, VA cover?
It covers the lobby, clubroom, fitness and coworking spaces, corridors, model units and the furniture, art and accessories that fill them. We tune each of these to the building type and to the renters the community is built for.
Do you work on garden-style communities as well as podium buildings?
Yes. Garden-style, wrap and podium buildings each concentrate the interior in different places, so we plan around the building type rather than applying one package to all of them.
Have you completed work in Virginia?
Yes. We have completed work in Virginia, and in thirteen states overall. Our team is headquartered in Irvine, California, yet most of the properties we design are outside Southern California.
How do you handle furniture delivery to a Richmond site?
Furnishings arrive at our receiving warehouse in Southern California for inspection and storage. We then coordinate delivery with installation partners and have designers on site for placement and cleanup.
Can we start with one amenity room instead of a full community?
Yes. A furniture refresh, one amenity room, a rendering or a set of finish selections are all workable starting scopes.
