Commercial Interior Design in Savannah
Commercial interior design in Savannah is the planning, furnishing and installation of the apartments, rental homes, extended-stay hotels and senior communities that coastal Georgia needs as advanced manufacturing moves in. Level Up Interiors is a national design team based in Irvine, with our own receiving warehouse in Southern California and installation partners across the country, and Savannah is a market we are ready to serve.
The work here pairs new suburban buildings for plant workers and relocating staff with a city whose historic character every resident already knows.
Savannah Growth Anchored in Bryan and Chatham Counties
Read more
Growth here starts in Bryan County, where the Governor's office said in August 2023 that the Hyundai Motor Group electric vehicle plant and battery joint venture represent an estimated $7.59 billion in investment and will create 8,500 new jobs for the region over the next eight years. That is a long-range projection, and housing has to be planned against it well ahead of the hiring. Suppliers, construction trades and the earliest employees all need somewhere to live before the full workforce arrives.
Chatham County adds its own momentum, most recently from Mitsubishi Power Americas, which announced in October 2026 a $490 million expansion of its existing footprint in Georgia with more than 220 new jobs planned in the county. Gulfstream Aerospace widens that base: in April 2023 it chose Chatham County for expansions that will bring 1,600 new jobs and $150 million in capital investment, including a new customer support service center. Engineers, technicians and families relocating for work like this are the renters and buyers that new housing around Savannah is being built to attract.
The port anchors a steadier kind of employment. The Georgia Ports Authority reported 5.67 million TEUs across the Port of Savannah docks in fiscal year 2026, just shy of the 5.7 million handled the year before, and the logistics workforce behind that volume rents and buys alongside the new plant hires.
Who Savannah's New Housing Serves

Most of what is rising around Savannah is workforce-oriented, and each building type asks something different of the interiors.
Extended-stay hotels and furnished units host construction crews and employees between homes. Those rooms see heavy, constant use, so we specify replaceable seat cushions, hard-wearing case goods, real kitchen storage and a place to drop boots and gear at the door. Garden-style apartments and build-to-rent communities compete for permanent hires who plan to stay, which puts the clubhouse, leasing office and model units to work as sales tools.
New-home communities need merchandised models that let a relocating buyer picture daily life in each plan. Senior and active adult communities need common areas that feel social to residents and reassuring to the families who visit them.
Commercial Interior Design in Savannah, Beyond the Historic District
Read more
Savannah has a look people recognize instantly: live oaks draped in Spanish moss, historic squares, wrought iron, tabby and brick, and pastel Victorian and Georgian facades. Residents of a new garden-style community in Bryan or Effingham County know that vocabulary well, and they notice when a clubhouse copies it like a stage set.
We borrow from it with restraint. Textured plaster can recall tabby, a dark metal detail can nod to ironwork, and the palette can draw on marsh greens, oyster whites, weathered wood and port-city blues. Light deserves the same care. Downtown it arrives soft and filtered through the tree canopy, but a newly cleared suburban site rarely has that shade, so window treatments and fade-resistant textiles have to do more of the work.
What Savannah Summers Do to Fabric, Flooring and Patio Furniture

Summers here are hot and very humid, and the coast carries tropical storm and hurricane exposure. Humidity finds the weak spots: cushion fill that holds water, flooring that swells at a ground-floor entry, untreated wood that mildews in a pool cabana. Our Savannah specifications lean on choices like these:
- Solution-dyed performance fabrics and quick-drying outdoor foam
- Moisture-tolerant flooring and wall protection at entries, laundry rooms and ground floors
- Corrosion-resistant outdoor frames heavy enough to stay put in a squall
- A plan for which outdoor pieces get stored when a storm is forecast
Holding Savannah Furniture Until the Building Is Ready
Read more
Lease-up dates and hotel openings rarely move, even when construction does. Furniture for a Savannah project ships to our warehouse in Southern California, where it is opened, checked against the specification and held until the site is ready. A damaged frame or a wrong finish gets caught there, well before a truck heads east.
Consolidated freight then travels on a schedule tied to the opening, and local installation crews set each room while our designers direct placement and final styling. During hurricane season, keeping product in storage is often safer than staging it on an open job site. Smaller scopes, from a furniture refresh to a single amenity room, follow the same path.
Questions
Do you offer commercial interior design in Savannah for smaller projects?
Yes. Along with full communities, we take on a furniture refresh, a single amenity room, a rendering, finish selections or photoshoot styling. Smaller Savannah scopes still run through our Irvine studio and Southern California warehouse, so the product is checked before it ships.
Where has Level Up Interiors completed projects?
We have completed projects in California, Washington, Arizona, Colorado, Texas, Alabama, Michigan, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Florida and New York. Most of our work is outside Southern California, so a coastal Georgia project runs on the same design, warehouse and installation process as the rest.
How does installation work for a Savannah property?
Product is received, inspected and stored at our own warehouse in Southern California, then shipped on a schedule tied to the opening date. Installation partners from our network across the United States provide the local crew, and our designers direct placement and styling so the finished rooms match the design.
Which Savannah property types do you design?
Our focus matches what the region is building: garden-style apartments, build-to-rent communities, extended-stay hotels and furnished workforce units, model homes, student housing, and senior and active adult communities. We also design hospitality spaces.
Who leads the design work?
Laura Velasco, our Owner and Principal Designer, founded the firm after starting in model home merchandising and then managing multi family and senior living design as a project manager. She also served in the US Army National Guard as an Operations Specialist in a Military Police Company.
