Hospitality and Extended-Stay Interior Design in Charlotte

Hospitality interior design in Charlotte is the design of hotels, extended-stay properties, restaurants and bars for travelers who come for business and often stay for days or weeks. In November 2025, Scout Motors Inc. announced a corporate headquarters in Charlotte that will create 1,200 jobs, with an investment of more than $206.9 million. Headquarters of that kind bring meetings, site visits and relocations, and the properties that serve them need rooms that work for a night and for a month.

We design hospitality interiors from our Irvine office, and North Carolina is one of the states where we have completed work.

Kitchenettes, desks and storage in a Charlotte long-stay room

A guest who stays for weeks judges a room differently from a guest who stays for a night. The kitchenette has to be usable, with a full-size refrigerator, a cooktop or microwave, and surfaces that clean without effort. A real desk and a chair that supports a workday matter more than a decorative headboard. Storage that lets a person unpack, in a closet and drawers with enough depth, makes a room feel like a home base.

Finishes take a beating in long-stay rooms. We specify scrubbable wall coverings and paint, resilient flooring and upholstery that withstands daily use. Furniture that can be repaired or replaced piece by piece keeps the room fresh without taking it out of service for long.

Charlotte lobby, restaurant and bar design from first coffee to last pour

Charlotte's culture mixes banking, motorsports and a growing food and brewery scene, so the public rooms of a hotel often serve both the traveler and the neighborhood. A lobby that works at seven in the morning for a coffee and a laptop has to change character by evening without a full reset. Lighting scenes, movable seating and a bar that reads clearly from the entry let the same room do both jobs.

Warm, hospitable finishes suit the city. We use brick, wood and soft textiles as a counterpoint to glass-and-steel buildings nearby, and we choose surfaces that survive heavy foot traffic and the humidity that comes in with afternoon storms.

Planning a Charlotte hotel refresh around FF&E

Many hotel owners reach us for a refresh rather than a new build. The usual question is how to renew rooms and public spaces without losing weeks of revenue. We start by sorting what must be replaced from what can be re-covered or repaired, then phase the work floor by floor or wing by wing so the property stays open.

FF&E procurement is where a refresh succeeds or stalls. We source furniture, lighting, art and accessories, receive and inspect them in our Southern California warehouse, then coordinate delivery and installation with designers on site. Owners get one point of contact from specification to the last placed lamp, which is helpful when the property team is already stretched.

Two local developments shape the planning. Charlotte Douglas International Airport proposed a program called CLT Beyond in October 2026, including an expansion of Concourse C, a passenger tunnel connecting the main terminal to the expanded concourse and renovations to international arrivals facilities. It is a proposal tied to airline lease negotiations, not an approved or funded project, but it points to continued business travel, and hotels that serve those travelers should plan refreshes with late arrivals and short stays in mind. Closer to the center, Maersk announced Charlotte as its North American headquarters in November 2025, bringing 520 jobs, and the teams visiting that office are the kind of guest who books a room for a week at a time.

Questions

What does hospitality interior design in Charlotte cover?

It covers guest rooms, lobbies, restaurants, bars and corridors for hotels and extended-stay properties, plus the furniture, lighting and accessories that finish them. Scope can be a new property or a single floor refresh.

How do extended-stay guest rooms differ from standard hotel rooms?

They need a working kitchenette, a proper desk, more storage and more durable finishes. Guests live in them, so comfort and cleanability matter more than decoration.

Can you refresh a hotel while it stays open?

Yes. We phase work by floor or wing, schedule installation in short windows and keep furniture removal and delivery coordinated so the property keeps selling rooms.

Do you work on hotels outside Southern California?

Yes. We have completed work in North Carolina, and a Charlotte hotel refresh would be directed from our Irvine office with site visits at the key moments. Guest room furniture is received at our own warehouse and installed by partners with our designers directing placement.
