Multi Family Interior Design in Memphis
Multi Family interior design in Memphis is the planning, specification and furnishing of apartment lobbies, clubrooms, fitness rooms, corridors and model units for the renters the metro is drawing now. Growth here is concentrated in a data center and industrial corridor that crosses Shelby County, DeSoto County in Mississippi and Crittenden County in Arkansas, and the apartments that follow are most likely garden-style and wrap buildings in the suburbs.
We are a national team based in Irvine, with our own receiving warehouse in Southern California and installation partners across the country, and we are ready to take on Memphis communities from first concept through install.
Who rents a Memphis apartment, and what they expect from the building

Housing demand in the Memphis area comes first from construction crews and later from permanent technicians, plant workers and logistics staff. Industrial hiring is a visible part of that second wave: in May 2025, Hyosung HICO announced a $51 million expansion of its transformer plant in Memphis that will create 123 new jobs in Shelby County. Those are people who often arrive on their own, sign a lease on a unit they have not seen in person, and judge the community by its lobby and its model.
That shapes the interior brief. A resident coming off a plant shift wants a place to drop gear, a fitness room that works at odd hours and a quiet corner to take a call. A resident who just relocated wants the clubroom to feel like somewhere to meet neighbors. We start there, before any finish board is built.
Google adds a regional layer. Its West Memphis data center, covering about 1,000 acres, is across the river in Arkansas, so the apartments that serve it compete with Memphis communities for the same renter. A lobby and clubroom that read as a clear step above the next property are how a Memphis building holds its place.
Garden-style, wrap and podium apartments in Memphis: what changes inside

The building type decides how much of the interior budget lands in a single room. Garden-style communities put weight on one clubhouse and the walk from the leasing desk to the pool. Wrap buildings pull the amenity program inside the structure, so corridors, elevator lobbies and a few well-placed shared rooms carry the identity. Podium buildings stack residents above retail or parking and usually need a stronger arrival sequence from the street.
In each case we plan the same questions in a different order:
- Where a prospect first meets the property, and what they see from that spot.
- Which amenity rooms earn their floor area for this renter, and which should be cut.
- How the model units show the floor plans without feeling staged for a catalog.
- Which finishes and furniture can be reordered later if a piece is damaged.
Finishing Memphis apartment corridors and models for heat, humidity and rain

Memphis has hot, humid summers, mild winters and heavy seasonal rain, so the interior has to be moisture-tolerant and easy to clean. Entry floors and vestibules take the first hit from wet shoes, and corridor flooring and wall protection need to survive moving days. Soft goods in clubrooms and outdoor-adjacent rooms should be specified for humidity as well as looks.
The city also gives designers material to work with. The Mississippi River, blues and soul music and barbecue culture suggest warm wood, brick and warehouse-loft references, and the mid-century Southern look suits a lobby that should feel local rather than generic. We use those cues to set a direction and then test every selection against wear.
Serving Memphis apartment communities from Irvine

We have not completed a project in Tennessee, and we do not dress that up. What we offer a Memphis owner is a team that has worked on multi family communities in other states, a Southern California warehouse where furniture is received, inspected and stored, and installers across the country who set it in place while our designers are on site.
Scopes can be small. An owner with a single amenity room, a model refresh or a finish package is as welcome as one with a full community.
Questions
What does multi family interior design in Memphis cover?
In a Memphis apartment community it covers every shared and model space a renter sees, from the lobby and leasing area to the clubroom, fitness room, coworking space, corridors and model units. We scope the program to the building type, whether garden-style, wrap or podium, and to the renter the community is aimed at.
Have you completed apartment projects in Memphis?
No, and we have yet to finish a project of any kind in Tennessee. We are an Irvine-based team with completed multi family work in other states, ready to bring that process to Memphis owners and operators.
How do you handle furniture for a project that far from Irvine?
Furniture is received, inspected and stored at our warehouse in Southern California, then shipped on a coordinated delivery to the site. Installation partners across the country assemble and place it with our designers present.
Can you work on a single amenity room or a model unit?
Yes. A furniture refresh, one amenity room, a rendering or a set of finish selections is a normal scope for us, and it can stand alone or grow into a larger community program.
