Commercial Interior Design in Seattle
Commercial interior design in Seattle has to answer to long, dark, wet winters before it answers to anything else. We design and furnish interiors for podium and tower apartments in the city and on the Eastside, student housing near campus and senior living in the suburbs. Washington is on the short list of thirteen states where our work is complete.
Designing for Daylight in a Gray Season
Read more
From late fall through early spring, many residents leave for work and come home in the dark. Shared spaces that rely on a single overhead fixture feel cave-like by four in the afternoon. We layer light at three heights, ceiling, wall and table, and choose warm color temperatures that still render skin and wood naturally.
Window walls matter even more. We keep furniture low near glass so daylight reaches deep into a lobby or lounge, avoid heavy drapery where sheer shades will do, and favor pale floors and matte wall finishes that bounce light rather than absorb it. In senior living, that daylight strategy also supports residents who spend more of the day indoors.
Bike Rooms, Dog Washes and the Wet Entry

In Seattle, the bike room and the pet spa are not extras. Prospects expect them and look at them closely on a tour. A good bike room has wall racks and floor stands, a repair stand with tools, durable flooring and lighting bright enough to feel safe at night. A dog wash needs a raised tub, a handheld sprayer, hooks for leashes and towels, and finishes that tolerate constant water.
- Walk-off mats and resilient flooring at every exterior door
- Bench seating near the entry for boots and rain gear
- Drain-friendly floors and wipeable walls in the pet spa
- A clear route from the bike room to the elevator that skips the main lobby
Where Seattle Renter Demand Is Coming From

Seattle's growth right now is steady rather than explosive. The Census Bureau put the Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue metro at 4,161,883 residents on July 1, 2025, a gain of 43,068 in a year that ranked eighth among U.S. metro areas. Payroll growth has been flatter: King County counted 1,476,100 nonfarm jobs in September 2026, up just 0.1% from a year earlier, while its manufacturing employment rose 2.6% to 93,800.
Transit is changing where those renters are willing to live. Sound Transit's 2 Line Crosslake Connection opened on March 28, 2026 and links Seattle and the Eastside by light rail, so a mid-rise near an Eastside station becomes a realistic home for someone who works downtown, and the reverse. For owners, that puts more weight on the rooms a commuter uses every day: a bike room close to the station-side entry, package storage sized for weekday volume, and a lounge that still feels inviting at the end of a long gray day.
City Towers, Eastside Mid-Rises and Suburban Campuses

Podium and tower buildings in the city stack amenities on a few floors, so each room must work hard and carry sound well. Eastside suburbs add mid-rise communities with more room for a full clubhouse and outdoor terraces. Near the university district, student housing needs study rooms that stay quiet, social spaces that can take abuse and unit furniture that survives each turn.
Senior living tends to sit in the suburbs, where campuses have room for dining, a library, a fitness studio and covered outdoor space. Furniture there needs supportive seating, clear contrast and fabrics that clean easily, all without feeling clinical.
Commercial Interior Design in Seattle, Delivered From California
Read more
Our studio is in Irvine. FF&E for a Seattle project is received, inspected and stored at our warehouse in Southern California, then shipped north as a coordinated delivery when the building is ready. Local installation teams handle placement, with our designers on site to set each room and finish the punch list.
In a tower with one service elevator and a limited loading window, that order of operations removes a great deal of friction. Items arrive checked, grouped by floor and ready to place, and packing materials leave the building with the crew.
Questions
Have you completed projects in Washington State?
Yes. Level Up Interiors has completed work in Washington, and our designers travel to Seattle and Eastside sites for walks and installation.
How do you make amenity spaces feel bright during Seattle winters?
We layer ambient, wall and table lighting, keep furniture low near windows and choose light, matte finishes that reflect daylight. The goal is a room that feels warm and open at four in the afternoon in December.
Do you design bike rooms and pet spas?
Yes. We plan storage, flooring, lighting and fixtures so both rooms hold up to daily use and still look good on a tour. In Seattle they are among the first spaces prospects ask to see.
Does commercial interior design in Seattle cost more because you are based in California?
Freight is part of every out-of-region project, and we plan it into the procurement schedule from the start. Receiving and inspecting everything at our own warehouse first reduces reorders and failed deliveries on site.
Do you work on student housing and senior living in the Seattle area?
Yes. We design multi family, student housing and senior living, and each gets its own furniture criteria based on how residents and staff use the space.
What outdoor furniture works on a Seattle roof deck?
Pieces that drain and dry fast: powder-coated aluminum, slatted or mesh seats, quick-dry foam and solution-dyed fabric. We also plan covered storage so cushions spend the wet months indoors.
