Full-Service Commercial Interior Design in the Bay Area
Full service interior design in the Bay Area means one firm carries a new or repositioned community from the first design idea through the placement of the last piece of furniture. The market is busy with employer activity: in September 2025, Anthropic agreed to lease two floors at 505 Howard St. in San Francisco's SoMa district, according to real estate sources cited by the San Francisco Standard.
Developers building for that workforce need an interior team that does not hand off between steps.
The case for one design team on a Bay Area community

Demand here centers on San Francisco and the Peninsula, where AI and software employees drive rental demand for mid-rise and high-rise apartments, including furnished and corporate-style units for relocating staff. Mountain View and the South Bay add transit-oriented podium and wrap apartments near office campuses, and senior living and mixed-use infill are part of the pipeline.
Across those types the same problem repeats. Every handoff between a designer, a documentation team, a procurement vendor and an installer is a place for intent to be lost. One firm that owns the interior keeps the idea, the drawings and the delivered room tied together, and gives the owner a single point of accountability.
How design, drawings and orders stay connected from Irvine
Read more
We are based in Irvine, and most of our projects are outside Southern California, so working at a distance is how we operate. Design decisions are recorded in documents and specifications that the same people later use to purchase. Orders are placed against those specifications, received and inspected at our own Southern California warehouse, and delivered when the building is ready.
That chain matters most for out-of-state clients who cannot walk the site weekly. They get one set of decisions, one team answering questions and a single record of what was chosen and why.
Bay Area projects that call for full service

Full service fits a ground-up community that needs a coordinated interior, a repositioning where lobby, amenity and unit standards all change, and an adaptive reuse where an older or converted building needs a cohesive identity. In this market, where older buildings and Victorian-era streetscapes sit beside glass towers, a single design hand helps new work respect what is already there.
Tolman in Fremont, Tralee Village in Dublin and Montrachet in Napa are among the multi family communities Level Up has completed in California. We bring that experience to Bay Area owners, builders and operators who prefer to deal with one firm for the whole interior.
What the Bay Area owner decides and what we carry

The owner sets the program, the budget and the brand direction, and approves the design at key points. We carry the rest: planning, finishes, drawings that contractors can bid and build from, coordination with subcontractors, purchasing, receiving and installation with designers on site.
Local conditions inform our choices. Cool coastal fog and mild, dry summers make warm palettes and layered lighting effective, and Bay Area residents tend to expect sustainable materials, small-footprint planning and strong indoor-outdoor connection. We build those expectations into the first design direction rather than correcting for them later.
Questions
What does full service interior design in the Bay Area include?
It covers the whole interior of a project: design, documentation, procurement, delivery and installation, with project management throughout. A single firm is accountable for each step.
Can an Irvine firm manage a project in San Francisco or the South Bay?
Yes. Most of our projects are outside Southern California, so remote coordination is routine. Our designers go to site for key reviews and for installation.
What does the owner need to provide?
The program, budget range, brand or lender standards and approvals at design milestones. Architectural drawings and a construction schedule help us plan procurement.
Can we start with part of the scope?
Yes. Small scopes are welcome, and many clients begin with a single piece and add more once the process is familiar.
