Build-to-Rent Community Interior Design in Salt Lake City
Build to rent interior design in Salt Lake City is the work of furnishing and finishing a horizontal rental community, from its amenity center and leasing space to the model home and the finish package inside every house. The renter here has chosen a house over an apartment, and the interiors need to respect that choice.
Level Up Interiors is based in Irvine and has completed projects in thirteen states. Salt Lake City is a market we are ready to serve, with the same process we bring everywhere else.
Why build-to-rent interior design fits Salt Lake City families

Demand in the metro comes from corporate and life-science hiring in Salt Lake County and from data center construction and operations in West Jordan and the southwest valley. Households tied to those employers include families who want yard, garage and a front door, which is what supports build-to-rent and new-home communities alongside apartments.
The hiring is not abstract. In December 2025, Utah's Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity gave Stryker a post-performance tax reduction for a Salt Lake County expansion that projects 862 new jobs and $615.6 million invested in Utah over 20 years. Employment growth of that kind produces households that need homes on a timeline set by their start dates, and a rental house that is furnished, finished and ready photographs well and leases faster than one that feels like a leftover.
The Salt Lake City build-to-rent amenity center

A horizontal community has no lobby, so the amenity center becomes the identity of the neighborhood. In an outdoors-first market it earns its keep with the following:
- A mudroom-style entry with bench seating, hooks and durable flooring for snow, grit and gear
- A flexible gathering room that works for a kids' party, a package pickup and a remote-work afternoon
- A small fitness room that residents can reach in winter inversion weeks when outdoor routes feel unpleasant
- Covered outdoor seating that works across hot dry summers and cold shoulder seasons
Finish packages that survive Salt Lake City turnover

Single-family rental interiors are repeated, so each finish decision is made once and multiplied across the whole community. Flooring has to handle snow, grit and pets. Paint needs a washable finish in the rooms where families live hardest. Cabinet and counter selections should be common enough to replace in a hurry when a house turns over.
We choose a palette from the region itself: warm timber, natural stone, granite gray, sagebrush green and a touch of alpine blue. It reads as local without becoming a theme, and it ages well. Where a finish costs more, we say what it buys in durability or cleaning time, so the owner can decide with a clear trade-off in front of them.
Models and leasing for a Salt Lake City build-to-rent community

A model home for a rental community has a different job from one for a for-sale builder. The visitor is not deciding on a thirty-year commitment. They want to know whether their furniture fits, where the gear goes and what a Tuesday looks like in the house.
We furnish the model to answer those questions, with scaled pieces, visible storage, a home office corner and an entry that shows how the mudroom works. The leasing space gets the same discipline: an easy path from the street to the desk, and a table where a couple can sit down with a floor plan.
Furniture is received, inspected and stored in our Southern California warehouse, then delivered in an agreed sequence and placed with designers on site, with installation partners across the country.
Questions
What is different about build-to-rent interior design compared with apartments?
There is no shared lobby or corridor, so the amenity center, the model home and the finish package carry the identity. Every finish choice repeats across many houses, which makes durability and ease of replacement more important.
Has Level Up Interiors completed a project in Utah?
Not yet. We have completed work in thirteen states and are ready to serve Salt Lake City from our Irvine office, using the same process, receiving warehouse and installation network.
Do you furnish only the model home or the whole community?
Either. Some owners ask for a model and amenity center alone, others want a full finish package and furniture plan across the community. Smaller scopes are welcome.
How should an amenity center handle Salt Lake City winters?
Plan for gear and wet boots at the entry, choose flooring that cleans quickly, and keep the room bright. A fitness room and a flexible gathering space give residents somewhere to go when outdoor routes are unpleasant.
