Workforce and Corporate Housing Interior Design in Salt Lake City
Workforce housing interior design in Salt Lake City is the design and furnishing of crew and corporate housing for construction, plant and field workers and relocating employees, with units built for rotation and for hard daily use. The aim is a place where people recover after a long shift, and where an operator can turn a unit quickly.
Level Up Interiors plans crew and corporate housing from its Irvine studio. Salt Lake City is a market we are ready to serve, with a Southern California receiving warehouse and installation partners across the country.
Why Salt Lake City workforce housing is in demand

In March 2025, CIM Group and Novva Data Centers announced $2 billion in financing from J.P. Morgan and Starwood Property Trust to finish the West Jordan campus, which will span one million square feet with 175MW of capacity. Building a campus of that size brings trades and project crews into West Jordan and the southwest valley, and once it operates it needs a stream of technicians.
Corporate and life-science hiring in Salt Lake County adds relocating employees who need a furnished place to land before they find a permanent home. Both groups need housing that is ready on arrival, and both are poorly served by a unit that reads as temporary. The scale of the site matters for housing planning: Novva's West Jordan campus covers roughly 100 acres, and the city expects nearly $1 million in annual tax revenue once construction is done, so crews and then operations staff will need places to live for years, not weeks.

Rotation schedules shape the plan. A unit may change occupants as a crew rolls on and off, so beds, seating and tables must stand up to heavy use and be easy to clean between residents. We favor simple, rugged pieces, with fixed items where they reduce loss and repairs, and a consistent kit of parts so a replacement chair or lamp is quick to find.
The unit itself should be set up for a tired person. A good bed, blackout window treatments for people sleeping off a night shift, a desk or table that works for a laptop and a meal, and a small kitchen where there is enough room. Durable flooring, wipeable walls and a layout that avoids tight corners where furniture gets damaged reduce turn time.
Laundry, boots and gear storage for Salt Lake City crews

In a snow and mud climate, the unit entry matters. Crews come home with wet boots, dusty clothes and work gear, and without a plan that all ends up on the floor and in the bed. A vented boot and gear area at the door, a bench, hooks and a floor that can be hosed or mopped solve most of it.
Laundry belongs on the way in, not at the far end of the building. Machines sized for the number of residents, folding space and a place to hang work clothes keep the units cleaner and the staff calmer. Where units have no laundry, a well-planned shared room is better than a cramped corner.
Common rooms Salt Lake City workforce residents use after a shift

After a long day, people want food, quiet and a little company. The common room should offer all three: a kitchen or grill area, seating in small groups and at a larger table, a screen room, and a quiet corner for a call home. A fitness space can help, if it is simple and durable.
Finishes should be tough but not harsh. Warm timber tones, stone textures and the region's sagebrush and granite palette make the space feel considered. We receive and inspect furniture in our Southern California warehouse, then deliver and place it with designers on site, so the whole property opens furnished and consistent.
Questions
What is workforce housing interior design?
It is the design and furnishing of crew, corporate and relocation housing so units survive rotation and hard use while still giving residents a comfortable place to rest and eat.
Has Level Up Interiors completed a project in Utah?
Not yet. We have completed projects in thirteen states and are ready to serve Salt Lake City from Irvine with our usual process, warehouse and installation network.
How do you choose furniture for rotating residents?
We choose rugged, cleanable pieces from a consistent kit, so replacements are simple to source and units can be reset quickly between occupants.
Do you also design corporate housing for relocating employees?
Yes. Corporate units follow similar durability rules but lean slightly more residential, with a better work surface, softer lighting and a fuller kitchen.
